SIMON MONDAY CHALLENGE LITTLE CRITTERS

Ciao a tutti!!!

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.
Thank you for joining us for the Home Sweet Home Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week the theme is Little Critters!
Whether you choose to feature your own pets or prefer to delve into the wider animal kingdom we will be looking forward to seeing which little critters you choose to feature on your creations!
This week is still with us, as Designer Spotlight, Sonia, for those who have not visited her yet,  here is the link to her fabulous  blog!

Those who know me will not be surprised by this sea theme project, this time I'm fascinated by Tim's marine creatures, this is my favorite! This stamp is definitely one of my favorites and I like to use it in this steampunk version!

To create my sea critter I prepared a small sheet of Heavystock with Distress Oxides, Vintage Photo and Iced Spruce,  and I stamped  it with Wendy Vecchi Archival Ink Potting soil. Above tentacles to give texture I used Ranger Hot Cocoa Liquid Pearls.

The base of the project is a recycled burlap panel stripped of cloth. Sometimes I make mistakes, at the start I think  the result will be fabulous...... then the result is different and you have to throw it all away, but I save everything  that is possible! In this case I saved the base and  I covered it  with Grit paste and stencil. Once Grit Paste dried,  I used Ground Espresso Distress paint  and sprinkled a thread of Lindy's Stamp Gang Tawny Turquoise Moon Shadow Mist. I especially like this color because it has a brown base and  absolutely wonderful shades that are between turquoise and green! The effect is more beautiful if you can look   the project from your hands, but it's not possible and so.... these are the pictures!!!

To get the Patina / Rust effect I used two sets by  Prima Marketing, perfect for creating this look! Wire, rusted sea flowers and my creature can live in an environment suitable!!
